Surprise! demand for free and low-cost legal services is pretty high. We anticipate Access Justice will continue to grow. As we do, Access Justice anticipates an increasing need for staff and volunteers of many kinds, including attorneys, clerks, paralegals, administrative staff, social workers, translators, and more.

If you are a student, recent graduate, or a seasoned pro, read more about what you can do. If you think Access Justice can help you with a legal problem, see our Eligibility Guidelines. Currently, we offer legal services in Minnesota, mostly in the Twin Cities metro area.

This week and next week, we will detail the different opportunities Access Justice offers as we set out to change the world — okay, the world of legal services in Minnesota (for now).

School Law Clinics Threatened

Law school clinics are facing some new threats from courts and legislatures. Law schools often have clinics at which students provide pro bono legal services under faculty supervision. These clinics are a valuable opportunity for students to learn practical lawyering skills, and for clients of limited means to obtain services they couldn’t otherwise afford. Access Justice is an organization of legal professionals committed to providing quality, affordable (or free) legal services to low- and moderate-income persons and organizations of limited means.

Mission and Vision

Access to the American legal system should be available to all people. Acting on our public interest oriented values, Access Justice is committed to providing effective, efficient and affordable access to justice for those low- and moderate- income individuals, disadvantaged minorities, nonprofit organizations and small businesses whose limited resources have largely prevented them from securing the legal counsel they need and deserve.
